We are lucky to live in a world where we can reach millions of people in a quicker time. Social media is more than just sharing funny things with your friends, When used as a tool to send an important message it can be powerful and moving. I hope Avery's story will reach the goal of an all important gene therapy trial to irradicate SMA as it affects so many and is the leader in deaths of infants of genetic disorders. As someone who follows advancements in medicine and health it is about time we try to help those in need of treatment. Imagine if we rallied together to help many genetic diseases. We would be so far ahead of illness.
